I am Youngmi Park, a florist and designer who loves to keep flowers close and enjoy them in daily life. One day, while arranging flowers hoping that their beauty would bring joy to someone, I encountered a strange itch on my hands and countless green sponge particles being discarded. Upon learning that this was the true nature of floral foam—an indestructible plastic and a major source of microplastics—I began to question my work.

"Do flowers have to harm the earth just to be beautiful?"
To answer that question, I developed the eco-friendly 'Flower Grip' using 3D printing technology and biodegradable PLA material to replace the traditional floral foam's function. I designed the structure so anyone can use it easily, and after months of trial and error, created a product that keeps flowers beautifully arranged for a long time while returning to nature. Now, I hope more people can enjoy flowers without burden and without harming the environment through this product.



Reason for Launching on Wadiz

Flower Grip is not just a simple flower arranging tool. Through this product, we aim to solve the problems of floral waste and microplastics caused by the use of floral foam. However, since floral foam has long been considered a given in the flower market, we need support to introduce a new option and turn it into action.
