While living in our country, we become so used to and familiar with it that we forget, but in Korea, you can easily get around to hidden attractions or famous restaurants in every alley by public transportation, even without a car.

K-public transportation we didn't know about

Seoul's public transportation has even captured the hearts of foreign tourists. In 2016, the world's largest travel information site,TripAdvisor conducted a survey asking travelers to select 'the one thing tourists must do' in each country, and in our country, 'riding the Seoul subway' was chosen.

What came to mind after much consideration wasthe Mapae.

The Mapae was a token that allowed government officials in the Joseon Dynasty to borrow horses from stations for official business, and when I saw this, I immediately thought of atransportation card.

The image of our ancestors showing the Mapae at stations to borrow horses felt just like how we tap our transportation cards when taking the bus or subway.

Thus, the Mapae transportation card was created, inspired by the Joseon Dynasty Mapae.

Over the past two years, in order to share the meaning of the Mapa transportation card and to promote Korean culture and tradition worldwide,we have communicated in person and received direct recognition for its value. In the past, the injection molding method inevitably created parting lines on the product,

Vintage Gold recreates a vintage effect like a real Mapae through elaborate handcrafting to present a truly realistic appearance.

Since every Vintage Gold is made entirely by hand, there is not a single identical Vintage Gold Mapae transportation card in the world.

Likewise, Vintage Gold features a textured expression engraved on the product itself so compared to before, the vintage look has become much more elaborate and realistically implemented.

There are two types of Mapae transportation cards: the Big Mapae transportation card and the Mini Mapae transportation card.

Yeowon Norigaeis inspired not only by dancheong but also by natural objects and traditional colors. Not in the original colors of dancheong,We carefully selected the colors that best match the Mapae transportation card, and crafted them with care.
