The ever-changing freelance environment

In the past one or two years of working on freelance projects, I have noticed that clients' tendencies and work processes have changed significantly. Due to these changes, many new freelance illustrators have been reaching out to me via email with various concerns, and since I have experienced similar difficulties myself,Practical solutions are what I am sharing with them.

For example,the overall project duration becomes excessively long,,and sometimes revision requests suddenly come after six months have passed. Moreover, as the project period extends,the payment date keeps getting delayed as well, which happens frequently. Because of this work environment,many new freelance artists are quitting their jobs or considering switching to other fields, which is becoming more common.

Therefore, in this project, along with the coping strategies I actually use,I will share survival skills for living more flexibly as a freelance illustrator, in a Q&A format.I will go into detail about the various difficulties and concerns that freelance illustrators and I have experienced, and explain them thoroughly.

Building a monetization pipeline

After working as a freelance illustrator for over 20 years, I have always lived with anxiety and stress due to irregular income. In addition, the overwhelming amount of freelance work caused various health problems, and as a result, I experienced two major burnouts.

So, for the past two years, I have focused on building monetization pipelines that can be created with illustrations.With the four core monetization pipelines currently established, I am generating more revenue than before. I am now developing several additional pipelines to generate even more revenue.
