Hello, I am artist Woochul Hwang.
This summer, I will walk along the Camino Francés, the Spanish Santiago pilgrimage route,a total of 800km, for 40 days.
This is not just a simple trip,but an artistic pilgrimage, drawing while walking.

I will create one drawing every day on the road, recording each day.
Landscapes, villages, people living their lives, pilgrims, emotions on the road…
The moments I encounter on the pilgrimage become drawings, turning into unique original artworks.

Through this project,a total of 40 original artworks will be created.
All the paintings were drawn directly on the pilgrimage route, without any reproduction or printing.Only one original exists.
Every day, I quietly paint while walking, at cafes, lodgings, or on hills.
The paintings are completed in various formats such as watercolor, pen drawing, and mixed media.

How to select original artwork:
After the pilgrimage ends, all 40 paintings will be revealed,and according to the order of sponsorship, you will be guided to select in order of arrival. You can specify special requests when sponsoring.
You can trek and participate in the entire schedule via the website.:
After the schedule begins, the website (camino.ouchulhwang.com Through ), I will share daily schedules, distances, activities, the process of creating artworks, and completed pieces. This allows supporters to participate in the entire journey.

Why did you start this project?

Last year, Iwalked the Camino Portuguese route and experienced 'walking art' for the first time.
On that path, I painted and wrote, and each day became deeper.

This time, I wanted to capture a longer journey, more encounters, and more stories through my art.
Art is not just a result, but a way to embrace the journey,
and I wanted toshare these artworks together.
