Hello. I am Jin Hwan-min, a ceramic artist who breathes life into clay.

For me, working is more than a simple act of creation; it is a process of breathing that is closely connected to life, like inhaling and exhaling. While continuing the beauty of traditional blue and white porcelain, I wanted to infuse it with our contemporary sensibilities.

I interpreted the Korean traditional grape pattern as a symbol of 'bubbles,' and developed an original technique of blowing blue pigment into ceramics using soap bubbles. Through the process of shaping dozens of jars and blowing hundreds of breaths, my emotions, time, and breath take form.

My work is not just simple ceramics, but a living, breathing art. I hope to breathe this very moment into the old tradition, and to place even a small breath in the hearts of those who see it.

Reason for choosing Wadiz

It is because I can communicate directly with supporters about my work and philosophy. From the process of shaping the clay to the moment it is fired in the kiln, I believe it is very meaningful to fully convey the story contained in each piece.

Also, through this funding, I wanted to introduce my work to more people and make it a part of everyday life as art that naturally blends in, which is why I am launching my first funding project with Wadiz.
