Hello!
[Andwix] Hariguard Waterproof Wrist Support
We are the Maker Team KGD.
This is the Hariguard waterproof wrist support, which took 1 year and 7 months from fabric development to launch.
Why is it called 'Hariguard'?
It's because we previously launched water-resistant golf gloves, Hydrogrip and Hydroeasy, and wanted to continue that identity!
The official name is Hydro Wrist Guard, but if we add our Andwix brand name... it's too long, right?
[Andwix Hydro Wrist Guard Waterproof Wrist Support] ......................
So, to keep the meaning but make it concise, we shortened 'Hydro Wrist Guard' to 'Hariguard'.
As the name suggests, the Hariguard waterproof wrist support is, of course, highly water-resistant!
Why was it made?
Because I do detailed work with a mouse and use the keyboard a lot, I have carpal tunnel syndrome. I've tried various functional wrist supports, but the most inconvenient thing was how often my hands got wet while wearing them.
When washing hands, washing my face, doing the dishes, brushing my teeth, cooking, doing beauty routines, or exercising and sweating—there are so many times your hands get wet.
So I tried waterproof wrist supports, but the silicone ones made my hands sweat a lot in less than 10 minutes. This quickly led to eczema.
I also tried wristbands that claim to emit far-infrared rays or have microcurrents, but they didn't support my wrist at all and were just simple marketing, not proven medical devices.
Recently, I tried a waterproof wrist support made by molding silicone and fastening with magnets in a Velcro style, but it didn't support my wrist at all. With the magnetic closure, if I tightened it one notch it was too loose, and another notch pinched my skin, so I couldn't use it.
So we decided to focus on the fundamental function of a wrist support! We just wanted to make something we would actually use, and that's how the Hariguard waterproof wrist support was created.
Hariguard Development Process
Originally, we planned to make the waterproof wrist support using existing fabrics. At first, we tried making a wrist support with neoprene, the material used for swimsuits. It was fine for fitness use, but as a wrist support for everyday life,
it was not suitable.
Starting with neoprene, even though domestic fabrics are recognized worldwide, we tried a variety of materials but could not produce a prototype we were satisfied with. So, just like when making golf gloves, we decided to develop and produce our own fabric together with the fabric company.
To achieve the desired tension and strength, we developed a new blend of spandex and began combining it with silicone fabric in early June 2023. After a full 1 year and 5 months until the end of October 2024, we finally created a fabric we were satisfied with and produced a prototype using this material.
Why are we launching on Wadiz?
Team KGD's motto is to never spare investment in raw materials. Let's not release products we don't even like ourselves! We believe that if we are confident in our products, consumers will also recognize their value, so we have no choice but to use high-quality materials.
If Hariguard's products prove their value, we plan to communicate with Wadiz users to add new colors, new designs, and new functionalities, expanding our lineup.
We hope that the Hariguard wrist support, prepared as a long-term project, will resonate with our customers.
Thank you.
