There is a way to repent. If you get angry in the time it takes to eat a meal and then let it pass like a drifting cloud in the sky, how can that be true repentance? It's okay to forget small faults after correcting them. But after correcting a great fault, you must never forget to repent, not even for a day. Repentance nurtures the mind just as manure encourages sprouts. Manure is rotten and dirty, but it helps sprouts grow into good crops. Repentance comes from faults, but by nurturing it, it becomes virtue. The principle is no different. โ 'Maesimjaegi' |

Hello, I am Sun Wan-gyu, CEO of Cheonnyeonuisangsang.
In 1993, I entered a publishing company without any preparation and began my journey as an editor. My favorite subjects as a teenager were Korean history and world history, and I naturally entered the history department at the college of humanities. However, at that time, I spent more time in the streets than studying, swept up by the trends of the era.
Afterwards, I returned to books and history, which I had forgotten for a long time, and one day I spent the whole day in the library reading philosophy books and poetry collections. Thatโs when I discovered the world of 'publishing,' starting by carrying and packing returned books at a bookstore near Sinsa Station. There,I collected publishing newsletters indiscriminately and became immersed in this work. On a rainy day, I happened to see a sign saying 'Editorial staff wanted,' walked in, had an interview on the spot, and started working there.
At first, I didnโt know much about spelling or writing sentences. I still vividly remember handing my proofread manuscript to the editor-in-chief and having a stack of papers thrown at me. From that day, I learned properly. I studied computers at dawn and took Hangul classes at night, building up my days one by one. Then one day, there was a short note on my desk: โNow work with a red pen.โ
The first book I participated in was 'Aesthetics Odyssey.' I started as an assistant, but ten years later, I became the chief editor who completed the series. Before I knew it, I have been making books for over 30 years. After working at Design House, Pureunsoop, and Humanist, we are now publishing books in the humanities and social sciences under the name 'Millennium Imagination'.We want to continue sharing thoughts and connecting with the world through books.
Millennium Imagination addsimagination to your life..

For the past 10 years, we have consistently and sometimes boldly created books in the humanities and social sciences. Believing that editors speak through books, we have strived not to lose our direction.
Our major works include Kang Shin-joo's 'For Kim Soo-young,' Kang Myung-kwan's 'The History of Books and Knowledge in the Joseon Dynasty,' Jung Yeo-ul's 'Library of the Mind,' Kwon Bo-drae and Chun Jung-hwan's 'Asking About 1960,' Ko Byung-kwon's 'Dynamite Nietzsche' and 'Underground Nietzsche,' and Jung Ah-eun's 'The Lie That You Stay at Home,' among others. So far, we have published over 100 books and received various awards such as the Korean Publishing Culture Award, Excellent Edited Book Award, and Sejong Book.
We also have records that are called the 'crazy acts' unique to Millennium Imagination.
Monthly Jung Yeo-ul Series โ We completed the series 'One Author, One Book a Month, 12 Books in a Year.'
Book Club Capital Series โ We published Marx's 'Capital' divided into 12 volumes over two and a half years.
Book Club Metaphor Series โ We compiled three books under the single theme of 'metaphor.'
And we also published two 'brick books' each over 1,200 pages long.
Ko Byung-kwon's 'Capital Lecture'
Lee Han-woo's 'Analects Lecture'
Going forward, we will continue to ask unfamiliar but necessary questions through books, and seek answers together with our readers.
Reason for Wadiz Funding
Since becoming an editor, I have only looked at the bookstore market for 30 years. People, times, media, and IT technology have all changed. Now, even the book market is changing with the advent of AI.Millennium Imagination, which has communicated with countless readers, now wants to meet even more readers. I believed that here at Wadiz, where people who pursue a unique lifestyle gather, I could find new readers.
ย
What happens after the funding?
The most important effect and response that Cheonnyeonui Sang-sang expects from this project is that it will serve as a starting point to introduce the value of 'classics' to more people. The funds raised from ใJeongmin's Dasan Reader Parangใ (2 volumes) will be reinvested in creating a book covering Dasan's middle and later years (the Gangjin period after age 40). Once the 'Middle and Later Years of Dasan' volume is completed, I would like to return to Wadiz and complete the series together with the supporters.

[Book] Parang 2: Jeongmin's Dasan Reader
A surprisingly unfamiliar story about 'Young Dasan.' The keywords of Dasan's youth are King Jeongjo and Catholicism. The shadow of King Jeongjo nurtured him, and Catholicism exerted an absolute influence throughout his life. Before the age of 40, without these two, there would be no Dasan. The history of the Joseon Catholic Church rested on one shoulder of young Dasan, and the dreams of King Jeongjo were placed on the other. He was often caught in situations where he could neither do this nor that. Each time, Dasan chose to confront the situation head-on rather than avoid it. Because of this, he suffered many disadvantages but never regretted it. What is Jeongmin's Dasan Reader? Jeongmin's Dasan Reader explores the unknown life of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong. It is a detailed journey following the human Dasan, divided into 18 years of youth, 18 years of exile in Gangjin, and 18 years after his release.
