As senior and junior colleagues in the mountaineering community, the two authors joined forces in the mid-2000s to popularize the Daedongyeojido. In 2015, they planned and began full-scale work on <Commentary Daedongyeojido>, a book that anyone could easily read and understand. The book <Commentary Daedongyeojido> was born after three years of dedicated effort.

They translated and entered a total of about 11,680 place names written in Chinese characters into Hangul, and added index ticks to the horizontal and vertical sides of the map so that each place name could be easily located. The highly sophisticated production process, which is hard to even imagine, became the foundation for all of us to easily view the Daedongyeojido.

Jinsun Publishing was established in 1988 and has consistently published books on topics closely related to life, such as nature, children, art, and geography.

Since its founding,'Knowledge is easy, experience is deep' Based on this philosophy, we have created books that present science in nature and daily life in an engaging way for children, and offer new perspectives on tradition, art, and space for adult readers.

This idea has expanded into two brands, 'Jinsun-i' and 'Jinsun Books,' and continues to this day. With the hope that a book will not simply be read, but remain in someone's life for a long time, we have planned and produced our books.

Reason for Pre-order

‘Commentary on Daedongyeojido’ is not just an informational book. Through the special medium of old maps, it deeply explores time and space, and we believed it should be properly delivered to those who recognize its value. That was our thought.

In general bookstore distribution networks, it is easy for this book to be buried among countless new releases, and considering production costs and logistics, we felt it would be difficult to convey the book's true charm. Therefore,we chose a method where we could explain the meaning, production background, and unique features of the book one by one in the environment of crowdfunding, and connect directly with those who empathize with us. This is the path we decided to take.

Jinsun Publishing is not simply publishing this book,To share and allow collection with those who recognize its value. I believed this was important. I determined that crowdfunding is the most suitable channel for this purpose.
