Maker Introduction
Hello. I am the representative of the brand 'Solstice Air'.
Currently, I am running the brand while also distributing used airbags. When I first encountered the special material of airbags, I was very disappointed to learn that such an excellent material was being discarded. So, with the thought of 'let's breathe new life into this material,' I started making bags. Making bags from airbags was much more complicated than I thought. The design, color, size, and even the condition of the material were all different, so it was not easy to select fabric suitable for commercialization. The factory I asked to produce the bags refused, saying 'mass production is difficult,' and at one point, the person in charge cut off contact and disappeared. Because all the work had to be done by hand, it was hard to find anyone to take it on, and it took a full year of trial and error, from finding a factory to changing the final factory. Fortunately, I met a partner who sympathized with the value of upcycling, and now we are taking on challenges and walking this difficult path together every day.

Q. Are the thread marks, barcode patterns, lettering, natural wrinkles, stitches, etc. on the bag considered defects?
A. This reward is made by upcycling airbags. Natural traces of time and markings from the airbag manufacturing process create unique features for each product and are not considered defects.
Q. Do you use airbags that have deployed in accidents?
A. Once an airbag has deployed, it becomes hardened and has a stiff texture. This allows us to distinguish between deployed airbags (used in accidents) and undeployed airbags (not used in accidents). Also, deployed airbags may contain gunpowder residue, which can affect the human body, so we never use airbags from accident vehicles.
Q. How should I wash it?
A. Instead of frequent washing, we recommend removing only the stained areas of the bag with a wet tissue or a soft cloth before use. If something sticky gets on it, it is convenient to remove the stain with an eraser. If you need to wash it, please use a laundry net and wash with warm water and a neutral detergent. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and air dry, as any detergent residue may cause discoloration. Hand washing is recommended over using a washing machine. When drying, air dry naturally, and since it is a waterproof product, turn it inside out once and dry it again.
