| Maker Introduction

The Saingeom is a sword that was crafted during the Joseon Dynasty for the peace and prosperity of the royal family, made in the year, month, day, and hour of the tiger, and infused with the spirit of the tiger. This sword has recently been reinterpreted as the weapon of a protagonist in K-pop content, gaining worldwide popularity. Even Emperor Gojong had one made, and the original form of this Saingeom is preserved at the Underwood Memorial Hall at Yonsei University. I wanted to reinterpret the shape of the Saingeom as a lighting and interior accessory. It is said that those who possess the Saingeom are blessed with peace and well-being, and as the Saingeom is now spotlighted as a K-Culture item worldwide, I hope many people can own it and find joy in it.
The Saingeom is characterized by a hilt shaped like a tiger and a transparent blade featuring constellations.
The transparent blade with constellations emits a gentle light when illuminated,
and also serves as a traditional yet meaningful interior accessory.
Its safe and portable design makes it suitable as a concert or event good as well.
| Reason for Funding and Use of Funds
[Reason for Funding]
- The Saingeom is a royal talismanic sword that was crafted only during the special time when the year, month, day, and hour of the tiger overlapped in the Joseon Dynasty. It was imbued with the strong yang energy of the tiger and the symbol of righteousness to ward off disasters and pray for the peace of the royal family and the people.
- The Sainchamsageom, which Emperor Gojong bestowed upon missionary Underwood, is currently housed in the Yonsei University Museum, recognized as an artifact of great historical and symbolic value.
- Recently, traditional weapons have appeared as symbols of new protagonists in K-pop and K-animation content, and goods and lighting featuring traditional elements are receiving enthusiastic responses from fans worldwide.
- In this trend, we are conducting this funding to reinterpret the symbolism and beautiful form of the Saingeom as a modern lighting and interior accessory, so that people can experience the meaning of Korean traditional culture and the joy of K-culture in their daily spaces.
