Hello, I am Sean, an American teacher.
I came to Korea in 2014 as an English teacher. I have taught English for over four years and conducted thousands of street interviews for more than nine years. Through this process, I discovered common concerns among Koreans.It was, 'I understand textbook English, but I can't understand native speakers at all.' The reasons were R/L pronunciation, contractions and connected speech, habits of literal translation from Konglish, the gap between listening and speaking, and a lack of confidence in front of native speakers. If you don't know the difference between "I'm going to go" and how it sounds like "I'm gonna go," no matter how many words you memorize, you'll miss out on real conversations.
I spent over a year researching ways to focus on solving these problems. In April 2025, I created a new YouTube lecture channel and built a systematic lecture series. The first lecture video surpassed 100,000 views in just a few months, and I received responses like, 'This is the part that was always missing in my English education,' and 'I wish I had known this ten years ago.' My Korean wife also saw a noticeable improvement in her English skills using this method.
The goal of 'American Teacher Sean' isto help Korean learners confidently converse with native speakers and enjoy English in various content. I hope that through this project, more people will experience a real breakthrough.

Reason for choosing Wadiz
