Hello. I am Byun Jeongeun, the author of <Child of Rain>. < Child of Rain> is a story of love andย courage woven together in a novel. On a sweltering summer day, as I watched the rain beating hard against the window,Child of Rain was the phrase that crossed my mind. After the monsoon, the hot summer days arrive. We long for the rainy season once more and keep the memory of those brief rains in our hearts. I wanted to express such longing and poignant love. Along with that, I wanted to capture the courage that blooms within love. Although I am still a student, <Child of Rain> contains the love of many people.

The reason I became a writer
| I am someone who has lived receiving comfort from books. There was a time in middle school when I was psychologically depressed. I had many negative thoughts, compared myself to others and to myself, and my self-esteem and sense of self were very low. At that time, my homeroom teacher recommended a book to me. For the first time, I cried while reading. And I resolved to live. I wanted to write books that, like the one that saved me, could offer comfort to the world. Everyone living in this world has worries and their own trials. Hoping that people could overcome those moments by reading my book, I began to dream of becoming a writer. That is how I became both a writer and the head of a publishing company called Parangseong. Publishing a book is not easy to do alone. You need a cover, you have to proofread and edit a book of over 200 pages, and various marketing efforts are needed for the book to reach readers. That is why I made a proposal to friends who share my dreams. I asked them to move forward into our future together. That is how our team gained a(n)illustrator, and a(n)editor,,and a director. We have known each other since middle school, and perhaps we have been running toward this very moment. Please listen to our story. Even if we each walk our own paths in the future, we will never forget this moment. | While I was in charge of all the overall illustrations, cover, and drawings for this novel <Child of Rain>, I experienced many difficulties and joys. Especially for the cover, I put in a lot of effort, spending over a month and a half just to create a more perfect and eye-catching cover. Because of this, I have more affection for it than for other works, and I hope that after reading the book, you will find the protagonists' stories and symbols in the cover as well. While working, I used day and night to create differences and tried to reflect the protagonists' stories and personalities by using symbolic objects. <Child of Rain> was created by four team members who are at the end of their teenage years, working together. Although we lack experience and there are areas we could improve, we made up for our shortcomings by sharing opinions and giving feedback from multiple perspectives, which I believe improved the quality of the illustrations. I am very excited and nervous to meet our readers on Wadiz, as I have great affection for both the work and my team members. A young adult novel about love, <Child of Rain>. | In fact, even before I took on the role of editor at Parangseong, I often talked about writing while reading novels written by Jeongeun. When I heard back then that she wanted to turn <Child of Rain> into a book now that she is in high school, it naturally led to the creation of a publishing company and the process of bringing it to the world together. As we proceeded, I realized I lacked professional skills and my major was not editing, so there were many shortcomings. However, I had affection for the book, and since I watched the writer write up close, I worked with the hope that what the writer wanted to say would be well conveyed to the readers, and that the readers would be able to empathize with it. Through a school project, I virtually published a picture book, participated in making a book trailer and planning marketing, and felt great fulfillment and excitement.
