Sunseong Wang Maesil Agricultural Cooperative
About 20 years ago, in the small rural village of Sunseong in Dangjin, Chungnam,
returnees and local farmers joined forces together
and, for the development of the region, along the embankment road by the Namwon Stream,
they began by planting over 10,000 plum trees.
The cooperative, which started with plum extract and plum makgeolli, is now making new efforts to revitalize the region by launching various new products using local agricultural products, such as craft beer, with the participation of descendants of Sunseong Brewery, which was renowned as a prestigious local brewery.
Every June, in Sunseong Wang Maesil Village, where abundant plums ripen, the freshness of plums is accompanied by a warm sense of anticipation.
| Reason for Wadiz Funding
Now in their eighties, the cooperative members hope that the ever-developing cooperative will continue into a new chapter of history.
The funds raised will be used to supplement insufficient production facilities and to develop new premium products.
