we have been dedicated to humanistic art publishing at
Yeolhwadang.
This book is based on the work of Professor Yoo Hee-kyung of Ewha Womans University, a first-generation scholar in costume history since 1955, and has been completed by her successors after fifty years.
It features the extensive collection of everyday attire housed at the Ewha Womans University Museum.This collection is included in the book.
Without directly viewing the artifacts, readers can grasp their forms and characteristics, and come to understand their beauty, with this intention in mind.

Since its establishment in 1971, Yeolhwadang has delved into publishing in the fields of art, visual media, and Korean traditional culture, carefully crafting valuable books that are difficult to make, one by one. From the 'Art Library' series, which established Yeolhwadang as a specialized art publisher among readers, to the full-fledged art theory series 'Yeolhwadang Art Selection,' as well as 'Korean Culture and Arts Series,' 'Korean Gut,' and 'Yeolhwadang Photo Library,' we have planned series that systematically broaden the horizons of visual culture. We have also published monographs by artists, architects, and writers such as the master of our time, John Berger, as well as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Marcel Proust, Le Corbusier, Kim Joong-up, Kang Woon-gu, Jang Wook-jin, Ko Yu-seop, and Kim Yong-jun.
