Love #1_First kiss Digital Artwork 30x36” Diasec Mount
Hello, I am a digital artist Kolle
from Korea.
It's very nice to meet you.
I am showcasing various works at the UK online gallery 'RISE ART.'

Each piece begins with meticulously crafted 3D models and renders, which I then transform through hours of hand-editing in Photoshop. By sculpting textures and applying custom brushes, I build a soft, analog depth—much like what you see in the image below

From cassette tapes to streaming apps, I’ve lived long enough to feel at home in both the analog and digital worlds—(I just turned 50, after all.)
That duality has shaped not only who I am, but how I make art.
My process begins with precise 3D modeling and rendering, but the real work happens afterward. I spend hours inside Photoshop, refining textures by hand, layering imperfections, and brushing in subtle variations that feel almost tactile. Even though my tools are digital, the choices I make are rooted in something deeply human.
I don’t chase the hyper-polished sheen that digital art so often invites. Instead, I’m drawn to the warmth of grain, the softness of uneven tones, and the quiet inconsistencies that remind you something was touched—not just generated.
Maybe that’s my way of resisting the speed and automation of the present moment.
Or maybe it’s simply how I stay present.
Funny enough, I’ve stopped resisting altogether: AI-generated images have officially won me over. Not because they replace what I do—but because they expand what’s possible. And I’m learning to embrace that.
In time, I’ll share more about how it all fits together. For now, just know this:
I make digital art that still remembers what analog feels like.
Exhibition & Awards
I’ve held two solo exhibitions at the Wadiz Space in Sungsu-dong.
I was selected as an Hidden Artist at ASYAAF, and I exhibited at the Fukuoka City Art Museum.
At the ADAA (Asian Digital Art Awards), hosted by Kyushu University and sponsored by Sony, I received the Grand Prize in 2023 for Knots series and was selected as a Finalist in 2024 for the bowl in the dawn. What an honor.
Yes. You can meet the Knots series here!
Here are some pictures of my solo exhibition.

But enough about my background
—allow me to introduce a selection of my works.
My latest. The 'Love' series.

First Kiss

Love #1_First kiss Digital Artwork 30x36” Diasec Mount
The moment of a first kiss.
The world around us feels warm and haze,
yet my thoughts are a tangle of questions.
Am I the only one feeling this?
Is this the beginning of something amazing?
It’s the instant where reason and emotion rush past one another,
trying to make sense of a heartbeat.
Passion

And then, passionately,
we love—
as if tomorrow will never come,
as if this moment is all we’re ever promised.
Last Kiss

As we break apart, I find myself asking
whether a final kiss ever existed between us.
The universe we once shared has shattered,
leaving nothing left inside me.
We simply turn and walk away.
May your life ahead be kind to you.
One last kiss wouldn’t mend anything—
not the hurt, and not the farewell.
Love Series X AI
Recently, AI has caused quite a stir—especially with the rise of tools like Nano Banana Pro. It almost makes you question the role of the artist in this shifting landscape.
As I watched these technologies progress, I found myself wondering how they could be meaningfully integrated into my practice. That contemplation led to the creation of my Love series.
Each of the three pieces began with an AI-generated composition, which I then refined and transformed in Photoshop, adding intricate details and bringing the work fully into my own hands.

Images are generated with Nano Banana.

When you zoom in, this is the level of resolution you see.
It appears fine on a digital screen, but the quality isn’t sufficient for a framed print
These works in the Love series were created with a resolution that ensures every subtle brushstroke is clearly seen, even at 30×36" (762×914 mm) prints.
How does it feel to you?
My intention with AI was never to see it as a threat, but rather as another collaborator in the studio—a tool to get comfortable with.
Throughout history, humans evolved from drawing with their fingers to painting with brushes; photography, rather than diminishing art, strengthened the place of abstraction; computer graphics tools have allowed anyone to create.
While AI feels intimidating and controversial now, perhaps it will eventually assume a similar position.
I suspect that, in most creative fields, AI-generated work will ultimately need human intervention to be fully realized.
Now, let’s take a closer look at the details of the other two pieces.

'Nothing to hide' Series
If the world were as clear as glass, could we trust each other more?
'Nothing to hide' series began with this question. By transforming the opaque surfaces of ceramics into transparent glass, the series invites a fresh reflection on society, relationships, and self-awareness.
Ceramics are familiar companions of our daily life and culture, yet their opacity conceals what lies within, carrying both a visual and symbolic limitation.
Glass, by contrast, reveals without obstruction, reflecting reality in its entirety.
This series represents a shift in message through the shift in material—using the transparency of glass to address the hidden complexities, mistrust, and concealment present in our social and personal spheres.
Turning ceramic’s opacity into glass’s transparency is a wish and a declaration: a world where nothing must be hidden.
While transparency is often equated with vulnerability, this work declares that true resilience emerges from unguarded truth.
Structures and relationships that allow us to see clearly within can, in fact, grow stronger.
'Nothing to hide' series invite its viewers to consider:
What are you hiding?
And how far could you become transparent?”
The 'Nothing to hide' series consists of six pieces in total.

On a larger computer monitor, the textures and deliberate scratches in the work become much more apparent than on a mobile screen.
This reward is available only as a Diasec frame.

Diasec example
Diasec,what?
Diasec is the world’s most established and trusted method for mounting prints behind Plexiglas. It uses a specialized liquid bonding process to permanently fuse the artwork to an acrylic (acrylate) plate—creating a seamless, crystal-clear finish.
As the first system to achieve direct, durable adhesion between a print and Plexiglas, Diasec set the standard for high-end presentation. Today, it remains the preferred choice of museums, renowned photographers, and leading artists who want their work displayed with exceptional depth, vibrancy, and long-term stability.
Simply put: Diasec is the premier premium finish for showcasing art behind acrylic, delivering both visual impact and archival reliability.
Though Diasec has become widely accessible, we partnered with a provider known for the finest quality to ensure the artwork’s brilliance.
The artworks are printed using professional fine art printers with archival piment, resulting in exquisite detail and vibrant, accurate color reproduction.

A polished, high-gloss surface brings out greater clarity and visual impact.

Each piece is shipped with a certificate of authenticity affixed to its back.
Last but not least...
'Knot' Series
Awarded Grand Prize at the 2023 ADAA.

When threads come together, they form a solid knot.
Alone, a single thread is fine and fragile. But when many threads intertwine, they create a skein that is both flexible and strong.
'Knot' series uses threads as a metaphor for human life, showing how we influence each other and collectively shape a larger flow.
The skeins themselves have no clear beginning or end. Yet, each strand relies on the others, naturally forming a cohesive mass—just like our lives.
Some threads are loose, some are taut; some brush past, pause, or sway. Together, they form a vast, interwoven skein, reflecting how we are individuals, yet part of a greater society and shared time.
'Knot' series speak to the truth that we are never truly alone.
Even without being visible, we remain connected, exchanging energy and essence, and it is this invisible bond that strengthens us.”

Why Wadiz
Over the past year, I explored various ways to promote my work internationally and discovered that in-person exhibitions with local gallerists are far more effective than online galleries.
For this reason, I am turning to Wadiz to fund my overseas exhibition expenses. This may also serve as a valuable opportunity to connect with international gallerists.
If you are a gallery professional and interested, please reach out to me through kolleworks@gmail.com. Thank you.
I have organized the rewards to make them easy to understand.
