On that day, we saw a 'plane without wings.' Do you remember the breaking news in January 2025? On the runway at Gimhae Airport, an Air Busan plane carrying over 170 passengers was engulfed in black smoke.

The cause was just one thing: a small portable battery inside someone's bag.

Fortunately, there were not many casualties, but the aftermath was devastating. The plane, ravaged by fire, had its roof melted and was ultimately scrapped. Even a plane worth tens of millions of dollars and the excitement of a joyful trip were powerless in the face of a single runaway battery. That day's news was not just an 'accident report' to us. "What if that plane had been in the air?" "What if that battery was next to my family on a flight?" These chilling questions would not leave our minds.

In the name of convenience, we carry ticking time bombs in our pockets, not knowing when they might explode. Airlines are scrambling to tighten regulations, but it is impossible to completely prevent battery overheating and explosions.

Zenco decided to use its technology and material expertise to save lives. That is how we began our long journey fighting against flames.
There was no easy path. Portable battery fires are different from ordinary fires. Thermal runaway, which can soar to nearly 1,000 degrees in an instant, burns through most fabrics.
We failed hundreds of times. Every time the pouch melted or flames leaked out, we remembered that plane accident. It shouldn't be "This is good enough," but rather, "With this, you can survive."
We developed a special flame-retardant material and a design that can withstand explosion pressure. At last, a precious fireproof pouch that contains the fire even in blazing flames was born.
