We reinterpreted the 'suit set-up' in a Korean way

With a modern suit set-up design
And simple points reinterpreted in a traditional way

Shin:Seoul Jang Jeogori Blazer Set-up

Hanbok-inspired points

A unisex Jang Jeogori blazer that blends the lines of a jacket and jeogori

A waist strap placed where the jeogori tie would be
Making it easier to add the accent of the tie

For the skirt, if you tie the straps attached to the waist,
you can create the feeling of a hanbok skirt.

Long cuffs reminiscent of a goreumji.

The shirt sleeves are designed to evoke a goreumji,
crafted with long cuffs,

capturing modern Korean beauty in the design.
Shin:Seoul presents elegant details of Seoul.

Gyeongbokgung lotus pattern ribbon point.

With the Jangjeogori blazer,
on the back of the ribbon crop shirt, among the dancheong of Gyeongbokgung,

the lotus pattern dancheong design is included,
adding a Korean touch.

The lotus pattern dancheong is mainly used on pillars, beams, and ceilings,

emphasizing the dignity and sanctity of the palace.

In major buildings such as Geunjeongjeon, Gyeonghoeru, and Gangnyeongjeon,

the lotus pattern dancheong is expressed in various forms,

symbolizing the king's authority, tranquility, and peace,.

By reinterpreting this lotus pattern dancheong,

with Shin:Seoul's unique modern sensibility

We expressed Korean beauty by adding distinctive points.

# Jangjeogori blazer

Sin:Seoul's blazer
Was designed inspired by the Jangjeogori.

The Jangjeogori, which showcases the clothing culture of Joseon,

Features side slits and an extended wooden collar, As its characteristics.

Not in a typical way,

But by reinterpreting hanbok in a modern style.

Easy to coordinate with various everyday outfits.

We carefully considered the design.

The jangjeogori excavated from the tomb of the Cheongju Han family in 1979

Is worn over a short jeogori of about 50cm.

The outer fabric is fine silk.

The lining is made of coarse silk.

Cotton is added between the layers for extra warmth.

One of the features of the jangjeogori

Is the adoption of a wooden collar style.

Sin:Seoul

Followed the form of this jangjeogori

And aimed to combine it with a modern blazer.

By highlighting the characteristics of the jangjeogori

The jacket's collar and the jeogori's lapel,

Connecting the inner and outer panels,

We developed a pattern for the design.

We added side slits to increase mobility.

The collar, which connects to the jacket collar,

Also follows the shape of the protruding wooden collar of the traditional circular jeogori,

And was designed accordingly.

Additionally, on the back panel,We added <span>dancheong ribbon embroidery</span> To give

A traditional Hanbok touch To the design.

Instead of the typical ribbon-tying method of the jeogori,

We designed a different fastening method,

Allowing the ribbon to be easily secured with a waist strap and buttonhole,

For convenience.

In order to reinterpret Hanbok in a modern way,

We incorporated the functionality of a blazer through numerous sketches and sampling,

While highlighting the characteristics of Hanbok in the design.

Yangdan pocket and patterns

Just like the name of the Yangdan pocket shirt
A yangdan pocket has been added to the left chest of the shirt.

The patterns on the yangdan fabric
Mandarin duck pattern / Longevity and happiness pattern / Floral pattern / Butterfly pattern, etc.
These are auspicious patterns meaning 'beautiful and good omen'.
They are woven into the fabric.

Our ancestors attributed auspicious meanings to animals, plants, the sun and moon, stars, and so on.
Auspicious patterns were often used on clothing, accessories, and daily necessities.

Shin:Seoul chose this fabric to embody such meaning.

The main fabric of the shirt prevents wrinkling,
and allows for good ventilation and easy washing.
We used synthetic fabric.

A point of interest is added with a double-woven pocket,
and the shirt is designed with a touch of Korean elegance.

Detail 2

Sleeve design inspired by the Geodeulji.

Of the jeogori,A sleeve design that embodies the Geodeulji, A sleeve design.

It was considered polite not to show one's hands to elders,
so the ends of the sleeves were made long,incorporating the characteristics of the Geodeulji,

to complete the sleeve design.

What is 'Geodeulji'?

Geodeulji symbolizes women's ceremonial attire, 

and refers to the style at the end of the sleeves, where the cuffs of Dangui, Jangot, and Gyeonmagi are folded up.

At the end of the sleeve, on the cuff or the lining side of the sleeve, 
A piece of white fabric is added and folded up.

Material Is generally made from the same material as the outer fabric.

It is said that this was commonly used.

Therefore,  In the case of the Sin:Seoul silk pocket shirt, 

The sleeves were made with the same outer fabric.The geodeulji sleeves were produced.
