The glass isย
Is it an item for drinking alcohol?
On a night after spending the whole day,
What we want
More than the taste of alcohol,
Isn't it comfort for that day,
And time itself?
It makes that time a little more meaningful.
โ A solo drink to wrap up the day
โ Anniversaries, time for just the two of you
โ Housewarming, entertaining guests
โ A heartfelt gift

So,
We put meaning into the glass.
The meaning of flowers and butterflies,
We wanted to express with light.
We chose mother-of-pearl and gold leaf.

Every time it catches the light,
To capture the subtle, vivid feeling on the glass,
Each piece is placed on the porcelain,
And completed through multiple processes.
Because it is a process of manually aligning small pieces of mother-of-pearl and gold leaf,
it takes a long time,
but it creates a texture and depth that are difficult to achieve with machines.
There is a unique depth to it.

To enhance the overall quality,
we also made a tokkuri.
If the sake cup creates the moment,
the tokkuri carries that flow.
The atmosphere is even better when they are together.
Compared to using them separately,
the overall completeness will definitely be different.

We recommend this for the following people:
- Those who value the time spent at home
- Those who want "atmosphere" in their sake cups
- Those looking for a thoughtful gift
- Those who want to enjoy traditional crafts in a modern way

Why. Hwajeopdo?
Hwajeopdo is a type of Minhwa, a folk painting from the Joseon Dynasty, containing wishes for wealth and longevity. There was a painter who excelled at Hwajeopdo, Nam Gye-woo, a figure from the Joseon era. He was so skilled at painting butterflies that he became known as Nam Nabi, meaning "Nam the Butterfly."
The Hwajeopdo sake cup and tokkuri were inspired by the artwork "Flowers and Butterflies" at the National Museum of Korea.

At Eveje,
Even the emotions felt in the moment an item is used,
We aim to design together.
So instead of making things quickly, we put our heart into them.

Objects that are more cherished because they are not perfectly identical.
Seeing the recent surge of interest in lacquerware and mother-of-pearl, we felt a great sense ofhope and excitement. The appreciation for the shining beauty of our enduring traditions has become a great source of strength for us. Our wish for this beautiful light to be part of more everyday lives has also grown.
To repay this interest and bring our traditional crafts closer to modern life, we have taken on a new challenge. 'Could we capture the profound beauty of tradition even in the smallest moments of daily life?' After much deliberation, we decided to infuse the iridescent glow of mother-of-pearl into one of the most familiar everyday itemsโa cup. Our previous project was inspired by protective charms, and this time, we have used Hwajeopdo, a painting of flowers and butterflies, as our motif.

The end of today,
with the hope of finishing with good energy.
Capturing the moments when flowers and butterflies linger,
Comfort yourself with a drink at the end of the day.
