Baekje Gilt-bronze Incense Burner

1933. December 12th. Neungsan-ri, Buyeo.

An astonishing discovery was made at the temple site next to the tombs of Baekje kings.

The secret of the gilt-bronze incense burner, which maintained its perfect form for 1,400 years,

was that it was preserved in a vacuum state inside the mud, minimizing corrosion.

Even in the moment it was buried in the earth, its form remained undamaged,

the mostcomplete memory left by Baekje.

Gaya art conveys the spirit of that era, which has crossed a thousand years, to this day.

In 1949, right after the Battle of Songaksan and just before the outbreak of the Korean War,

The director of the Gaeseong Museum secretly moved important cultural assets to Seoul.

(Designed for use with both incense cones and sticks. Stick hole diameter: 2.3mm.)

- The incense holder part may discolor due to direct heat exposure. This does not affect use.

- Combustion may vary depending on the environment and type of incense.

(Good ventilation helps with burning.)

- This piece is a bronze art object inspired by traditional cultural heritage. It is designed as an interior object that becomes a work of art simply by being placed in a space.

Although it is based on the form of an incense burner and can be used for incense, this product is structured as an art piece, unlike regular incense burners that are primarily designed for burning performance.

If only incense burning efficiency was considered, more ventilation could have been added, but this would have compromised the unique form and completeness of the cultural artifact, so the design prioritized aesthetics.

Therefore, the burning condition may vary depending on the incense type, usage environment, and airflow.

Gayami Art Casting prioritized the aesthetic form and completeness of the cultural artifact over incense burner functionality, placing greater value on its significance as an art object.

This is not a simple model whose value fades over time.

It is made 100% by hand, not as an industrial product.

Through actual bronze casting and a precise reproduction process,

It captures the traditional techniques and deep textures as they are.

Gaya Art isnot just a simple factory but

abrand.
