Our child has memorized the alphabet, but finds sentences difficult.

The reason is a lack of experience in creating sentences themselves.
Now,DIY magnetic cubes that go beyond words to complete sentences, with
Start English learning that continues through upper elementary grades.

Since 2005, I have been teaching various subjects to students in schools, libraries, and youth centers, starting as a science classroom instructor for about 10 years until 2014.

While developing various teaching aids needed for classes as a science classroom instructor, a professor suggested that I use my skills to run a company rather than continue as an instructor. So, somewhat unexpectedly, I started my current company in 2014, exactly 10 years ago.

I had no intention of starting a business, no technical support for business or design, and of course, no savings. So, whenever I earned money from teaching, I would make one teaching aid, and when I earned more, I would develop another. In this way, I spent 10 years teaching, developing, designing, and running the company all by myself.

For 10 years, I developed new teaching aids with the small amount of money I earned from classes, so I couldn't afford to produce expensive plastic items. Instead, I made pop-up book teaching aids from paper, created designs with paper wings, and launched and sold a product called 'Story Magic Cube.'

ย

In 2024, which marked another 10 years since the company started, I finally produced and sold the long-awaited plastic magic cubes and developed more than 50 types of content.

The Story Magic Cube is a teaching aid where eight cube blocks are connected with stickers, and various content stickers are attached for learning.

However, I thought that if I used just the cube blocks themselves without connecting them with stickers, they could be used in various classes.

I considered various items such as stacking games for math, Hangul cubes for Korean, alphabet cubes for English, and operation cubes for math, and tried different teaching methods. However, there were many difficulties with the regular Story Magic Cube blocks.

The regular type without magnets kept moving, making it hard to connect Hangul or alphabet letters. The cubes with magnets had only one magnet inside, so two cubes would stick together well, but when connecting several, they kept moving, making activities less effective than expected.

Then I saw magnetic cubes that are widely sold on the market.

The magnetic cubes currently sold have magnets on all six faces, so they stick well from any direction. As a result, most of these cubes are used by kindergarteners to make airplanes or houses.

The material I had in mind was indeed the magnetic cubes on the market, but they were too expensive and I didn't know where to get them. So, I couldn't commercialize the product for a long time. But in 2024, while producing plastic cubes and making molds, I asked the Chinese company handling the production to find cubes that could be commercialized, and after a long wait,'DIY Magnetic Puzzle Cube' I was able to launch a new product called.

First, I conducted market research on products using magnetic cubes.

However, most domestic and international products were just simple assembly toys using magnetic cubes to build shapes, airplanes, houses, or cars.

But I didn't see them as toys.'The property that all sides of the magnet stick together' By utilizing this property,'Puzzle' I was convinced that if used as an educational tool to solve puzzles, children could learn while playing in a very fun and enjoyable way.

So I created various educational content and teaching methods using magnetic cubes and registered the copyrights first.

One copyright was registered for the product composition and sticker design of the DIY magnetic puzzle cube, and another for the teaching methods and kit usage for subjects like Korean, English, and Social Studies.

And I applied for trademark registration.

The square array at the top represents the structure of the cube puzzle, and the blue, orange, and yellow colors symbolize the creativity and playful elements of the educational tool.

For safety, I also completed KC children's safety certification to ensure the tool is responsible for both education and safety.

Even now, I am teaching various classes with students. It's been over 20 years since I started teaching in the field, and I am very grateful to still be invited. I really enjoy teaching students.

I love introducing new things, thinking about what students find difficult, developing new teaching methods or tools, sharing them with students, and seeing them have fun and enjoy learning.

1. Diy English Alphabet Kit: The background of its development

By any chance, are you good at English?

I'm not good at English. I feel like I could do well in my head, but I can't actually speak properly.

So this has been a problem I've thought about for a long time. Why is it that even though I learned the alphabet from a young age, played and memorized countless English word games, I can't go beyond just words?

That's why I made it. Not just the alphabet and words, but let's make it possible to learn entire sentences as a game.

If children could play and repeat everyday sentences like learning words, wouldn't it be easier to learn English?

To learn English sentences, you also need capital letters, lowercase letters, special characters, and spaces.

That's why, after much thought and research, we developed this product.

This product allows students to complete the kit by attaching stickers to 28 cubes themselves, and with the kit they made, they can easily and enjoyably learn English up to the upper elementary level, including alphabet learning, word learning, and sentence learning.

Product components: 28 cubes (3cm squares) + 3 sheets of stickers + about 50 English cards.

Using the cubes that represent capital letters, lowercase letters, special characters, and space cubes among the 28 cubes, you can learn as shown below.

By making it themselves, they can feel a sense of accomplishment and develop attachment because they made it themselves. They can also play fun games with friends, parents, and siblings, such as making English puzzles with the cubes, matching words, matching sentences, completing sentences, and seeing who finishes first. If they practice speaking the completed sentences out loud, wouldn't English become a little easier and more fun than traditional education?

The DIY magnetic puzzle cube has 6 faces on each cube. By dividing 6 photos or pictures into 9 parts and attaching them to the faces of 9 cubes, you can reassemble the picture as a puzzle.

Therefore, the products introduced below are educational tools that utilize the properties of these cubes and picture matching, allowing for various learning activities or making and keeping your child's photos or drawings as magnetic puzzles.

Maker Introduction

Hello. Since 2005, I have worked as a science instructor for 10 years at a science classroom in Seoul, teaching students science and participating in the development of educational kits with companies. Later, I established my own company, Edumade (formerly Oliver Publishing). While running the company, I have personally handled all tasks such as planning, designing, packaging, and website creation and management based on my experience developing educational programs and kits. To this day, I continue to teach not only science but also various programs at schools, libraries, and youth centers.

Reason for choosing Wadiz

The reason I chose Wadiz is because I am a one-person company, and since I develop products one by one by saving up the fees I receive as an instructor, it is difficult to secure funds for marketing or promotion.

Teachers, students, and parents who see and use our teaching aids all say that they are very educationally beneficial for children, and that, as expected, since they are made by a teacher who actually conducts classes, the educational content and activity methods are different from those of typical teaching aids.

However, since I had no way to widely promote them, I have only been able to grow and maintain the business little by little over the past ten years. I believe Wadiz is a great promotional opportunity for small business owners like me who are struggling. That is why I chose Wadiz, to ask for help from many people here.
