Hello, I am In-Gwan Lee, CEO of B.A.M. Co., Ltd., a company dedicated to finding values that benefit people.
I lived in Europe for 10 years and have been introducing great European brands—brands that benefit people—to Korea.
During my long stay, I developed a certain curiosity.
"Why is the fresh and pungent flavor of olive oil, which I experienced locally in Europe, missing from Korean tables?"
Not just a simple cooking oil, but a golden liquid that itself becomes medicine and energy.
The desire to share this essential healthiness with Korean families was the beginning of our maker journey.
Reason for Funding
Our company's philosophy is clear.
'Benefit all mankind.' We believe that what we do must ultimately make people's lives healthier and better. To put this seemingly grand philosophy into practice, the first step I chose was 'innovation in the most commonly consumed ingredient.' I believe that a single good oil can change a family's morning and, ultimately, their quality of life.
I wanted to find a true treasure, not just organic in name. Since 2024, I have traveled to food expos around the world and visited dozens of producers across Spain. However, the reality I saw on site was different. Most brands that looked impressive on the outside were actually buying olives from outside sources for extraction or bottling.
Considering exports, it is difficult to maintain volume and supply with only their own farms. I personally visited farms all over Spain, the home of olives. Through numerous farm tours and studies, my standards became even stricter. Then, as if by fate, I encountered a small farm that had been family-run for over 100 years.
It was not as glamorous as global brands. But in their way of upholding their own philosophy for over a century and caring for each olive tree like family, I discovered our company's philosophy of 'benefit.'
Their insistence that "We focus on making the best oil, rather than selling the most" was exactly the answer I was looking for.
However, launching in Korea was not easy. It took a full year just to persuade them, as they did not want their oil to be treated as a mere product. I sent dozens of emails and visited them in person to explain our philosophy.
With my promise, "I will sincerely deliver your 100 years of dedication to Korean homemakers who dream of a healthy table," they finally opened their hearts. We decided to launch this brand for the first time in Korea through Wadiz, where supporters who recognize brand value gather, and that is why we are conducting this funding.
