Silk Road Lenormand with Korean Folk Painting Motifs

To each and every object,

Lenormand cards that hold symbolism,

I felt that this aspect resembled our folk paintings.

The traditional 'rider' is expressed as a dove in a folk painting interpretation.

So I imagined,
If Madame Lenormand had lived in our country,
Wouldn't she have left behind images like these?

Continuing that imagination, Icreated Lenormand cards in the style of folk paintings.
And to preserve tradition,

I also included the playing card symbols and numbering system.

Not just a simple homage,

But a meeting of East and WestA card like the Silk Road was what I wanted to create.

ย

When I first encountered tarot,

When I didn't even know the difference between tarot cards and oracle cards, I happened to discover Lenormand cards.

ย

Unlike tarot, it does not have a complicated structure,
and each object is simply placed. I found this very charming.
Anyone can read them intuitively, which made it even more fun.

Traditional Korean folk painting meets Lenormand symbolism.

The more I looked at the cards, the more I suddenly had this thought.
"They resemble our folk paintings."
The way a single symbol, like a flower, animal, moon, or cloud, tells a story,
seemed to overlap with the world of folk paintings.

If Madame Lenormand had lived in our country,
wouldn't she have left behind images like these?

ย

While looking at Lenormand cards, I became curious.
"Why did Madame Lenormand leave both the trump symbols and numbers together?"

ย

The trump symbol and number system is not just an "embellishment",
but a trace that shows the roots of the Lenormand cards + an auxiliary interpretive tool..

I felt that there was definitely a symbolic meaning within it.
So, in this card as well, the trump symbol and number system was definitely included.

Q. What is the visual style of the Silk Road Lenormand?

Silk Road Lenormand is a card that has reborn the symbolic system of traditional Lenormandwith the aesthetic of Minhwa.
Each card is based on a simple composition that emphasizes the object, and is placed within an oval border to harmonize with traditional patterns.

ย

The Korean font used on the cards isGungseo style.
This is not simply to replicate traditional typefaces,
but to capture the warmth and the power of empty space that feels like handwritten text in folk paintings. That is the purpose.

If folk paintings were created by the hands of people from that era,
Gungseo font is writing that still carries the breath of that time.
This typeface, which is a bit looser and more elegant than refined print fonts,
naturally harmonizes with the objects on the cards,
and conveys the sentiment of a 'handwritten story.'

On the cards, the traditional Lenormand number is placed at the top right corner,

it is clearly displayed like a playing card, and the card name is written only in Korean.

For example, card number 1 is labeled as 'Rider,' and card number 2 as 'Clover.'

Although the card names are written only in Korean,

the Lenormand number and the playing card symbol alone allow you to immediately recognize each card.

So even if you do not know any Korean, you can use your existing Lenormand guidebooks or reading methods

without any inconvenience.

The reason for writing the card names only in Korean is,

because this deck is not just a simple translation, but a Lenormand born in Korea.Because I wanted to capture that aspect in the card itself..

ย

Since Hangul excels at transcribing sounds as they are,,

Rider, Clover I transcribed the sounds of words likeโ€˜Riderโ€™, โ€˜Cloverโ€™in this way,

hoping to leave the rhythm and lines of the Korean language on the card..

ย

You can appreciate the colors of Minhwa and the shapes of Hangul with your eyes,,

and during actual readings, follow the numbers and symbols,

so that you can use the familiar Lenormand system anywhere in the world without any changes..

Even if you cannot read Korean, there is no need to worry.

ย

Each card features the traditional Lenormand number and

trump card symbol (e.g., 1 โ€“ Rider, 2 โ€“ Clover, etc.)

clearly displayed,

so even if you cannot read the Korean on the card name, you can immediately understand the card's meaning through the number and symbol alone.

This deck was created with the aim of "Korean charm in design, universal usability in system for easy use anywhere in the world."

Both aspects were pursued simultaneously during production.

Lenormand cards are basicallydirect and reality-based symbols used as tools to weave stories.
A single card holds a distinct meaning like an object, and when two or more cards are combined, they connect like a sentence to create a larger story.

However, since the Silk Road Lenormand cards contain multiple image elements, they may appear somewhat complex,The first step in interpretation is always to focus on the direct subject and core meaning.
The images are merely devices to highlight the symbols, not to cause confusion.
In other words, Lenormand essentiallyaims for clear, straightforward, and realistic interpretations.

For this project, in addition to the basic 36 cards, we have also prepared several supplementary cards.
This is an expansion device that allows for a richer connection to everyday life today, without disrupting the traditional system.
While the basic cards alone are sufficient for interpretation, using the supplementary cards can add various nuances and depth to your readings.

36 traditional Lenormand cards.

Additional cards (6) / Fruit cards (10).

A total of 52 cards included.

Q. Why is a guidebook (115 pages) necessary?

ย

Lenormand cards are, at their core, cards with direct and realistic symbols. They possess these qualities.
Because each object acts like a word and card combinations work like sentences, anyone can easily approach them.
However, at the same time, within that simplicity, there are layers of deep interpretation hidden beneath.

This time,Silk Road Lenormand respects the traditional 36-card system,
but has modified some cards to capture a sense of Korean folk art.
For example, the traditional Bear card has been replaced with aTiger Replaced with cards.
Not all cards have been changed like this,
Because expressions different from the original are included, users may become confused.

Therefore, we did not stop at simply creating the cards,
A guidebook to serve as a guide for interpretation has also been prepared.

This guidebook will be a friendly introduction for beginners and a reference for expanded interpretations for advanced users.

Silk Road Lenormand has prepared

Hello, supporter! I am Rinnyverse, an independent artist and card maker who captures big stories in small objects.Independent artist and card maker Rinnyverse speaking.

I was deeply fascinated by the clarity of Lenormand, which reads the heart through everyday symbols, and the warmth of our Minhwa, which conveys earnest wishes through humble objects. This is what led me to start this project.

Every card I create comes with a single line of text.

"You are whole, you are ready, and you already know."

This sentence is not just a decoration,
but a shared philosophy of all the cards I have made, including Lenormand and Oracle,a common philosophy. Contains.
The answer is not only in the cards, but already within you.
It reminds you that the cards are merely a mirror reflecting that answer.

The reason I came to Wadiz is

This card, which began as a personal imagination, needs your support to come out into the world. I wanted to meet supporters not just as consumers who purchase a product, but as co-creators who join me on the path of my imagination.
