Maternity wear for fetal examination | Patented product
“You don't have to lift your clothes.
From the fourth month of pregnancy, when abdominal ultrasounds begin,
The mother's 'uncomfortable moments' begin as well.
Lifting up the skirt, pulling the top up to the chest,
With only a towel for cover, all that remains is — awkward silence.
The doctor? Of course, it's a medical procedure.
But her feelings as the patient cannot simply be categorized as 'medical.'
With your clothes on, with your dignity intact, confidently.
This garment was made for that very moment.
Project Background
An invention inspired by my wife's expression
On the day of my wife's first abdominal ultrasound, I, her husband, also entered the examination room.
The attending doctor was a man. In early pregnancy, examinations are done via transvaginal ultrasound, but from the fourth month, when the fetus has grown, it switches to abdominal ultrasound.
The moment my wife lay on the examination table and lifted her clothes —I saw my wife's expression.
She smiled as if she was fine, but her face said otherwise. Exposing her belly in front of a male doctor. The lower abdomen is covered with a towel, but as her husband watching from the side, I could tell there were feelings that couldn't be eased by that alone.
Since the doctor was examining our child, I tried to accept it. However, thinking that this scene would be repeated at least seven more times until childbirth, I couldn't just let it go.
What if you could open only the abdomen while wearing pretty clothes?
What if the clothes were designed to open, instead of having to lift them up?
That night, I began to develop the idea in detail. Technically, it was not difficult to apply this to existing maternity wear, but since no one had done it before, I believed it was valuable enough.
And on July 15, 2021, the patent registration was completed.
📌 Name of the invention: Maternity wear for fetal examination 📌 Patent number: No. 10-2279937 (Registered on 2021.07.15) 📌 The only product in Korea — patented maternity wear with an abdominal opening structure |

Product introduction — Bloom The Care (B.T.C)

Differentiation 1 — Abdominal opening structure (patented technology)
To receive an ultrasound with conventional maternity wear, you have to lift your top up to your chest or pull up the entire dress.
Bloom The Care isA layered structure where the lower front of the top opens naturally so you can expose only your abdomen while keeping your clothes on.
- Looks like a regular dress in daily life
- Only open the layered part to expose the abdomen during examination
- Return to original state immediately after examination — no need for a towel or gown

This is an actual obstetric examination video filmed with a sample design. (The size of the opening is the same.)
Difference 2 — More than just an ultrasound exam, 5 ways to use it.
This garment is not just for ultrasound exams. The range of uses created by the abdominal opening structure is broader than you might think.
♥ Highly recommended as a special gift for someone special. ♥
Usage | Description |
🏥 Abdominal ultrasound exam | Confidently get examined while wearing your clothes. |
🧴 Applying stretch mark cream | Apply comfortably every night without lifting your clothes. |
📸 Maternity photoshoot | Emotional maternity photos that naturally reveal your belly. |
🍼 Nursing wear after childbirth | Breastfeeding is possible as is, without separate nursing wear. |
👗 Everyday outerwear | For cafes, markets, or walks — simply a pretty outfit. |
From mid-pregnancy to postpartum nursing,
One outfit accompanies every moment of a mother's journey.

Three differences — a step up from the initial model.
We didn't stop at the first design. We upgraded two features based on real wear tests and feedback.
① Material upgrade
Changed to a softer, higher-quality material compared to the initial model. Special care was taken to ensure it touches sensitive pregnant skin gently.
② Added kangaroo pocket
A front pocket was added to hold your phone, ultrasound photos, hand warmers, and more. Your hands are free while waiting at the hospital.
We were not satisfied with just obtaining a patent,
We continuously improved from the wearer's perspective.

The moment pregnant women don't talk about
If you have ever had an abdominal ultrasound at the obstetrician, you will know.
You enter the examination room, lie down on the table, lift your clothes, the doctor applies gel, wipes it off after the exam, and then you pull your clothes back down. This process repeats from the fourth month of pregnancy until just before delivery.
Stories commonly seen on mom cafes:
"They cover me with a towel, but it's still embarrassing."
"I'm already worried about what to wear for my next checkup."
This is not being overly sensitive.
We endure it for our children, not because it's okay.
If there were a way not to endure it,
Why hasn't anyone made it until now?
That's why I made it.
Maker Introduction
Hello, supporters!
I am an ordinary office worker and a husband who accompanied my wife through her pregnancy.
I am neither a fashion expert nor do I have experience in the clothing business. However, when I saw my wife looking uncomfortable as she lifted her clothes for an ultrasound, I thought, "This is something I can solve."
I came up with the idea, filed for a patent, made samples, changed materials, added pockets—step by step, I tackled each challenge myself to get here.
When I handed the finished sample to my wife, she said this.
"This is really great. Why didn't this exist before?
That one comment is what brought me to Wadiz.
Why I chose Wadiz
Let me be honest with you.
I am an office worker without much capital. Although I have a patent, I need at least some production costs to turn this into a product and release it to the world.
Stockpiling large quantities is impossible in my situation. But I was certain there are people who truly need this idea.
That's why I chose Wadiz.
First, I wanted to reach those who really need it before anyone else.
Second, I wanted to decide the production quantity based on supporters' reactions.
Third, I wanted to start small but focus solely on quality.
And one more thing. The Wadiz funding price is set lower than the expected future retail price. This is my gratitude and promise as a maker to the supporters who resonate with and cheer for this project first.
