The design process of a pop-up card transforming from 2D to 3D!

Pastof traditional culture to modern's mathematical principles are infused to

create moving three-dimensional forms?!

1. Select and download materials from the National Museum of Korea's Public Nuri resources, then restore and color any damaged parts of the original artwork.

2. Separate the objects to be popped up from the image, restore the deleted parts on the separated background, and color the original.

3. Using mathematical principles, proceed with pop-up design by disassembling and rearranging the pop-up objects and restoring missing parts of the original.

4. After completing the pop-up design, print samples and assemble them multiple times to correct any design errors and finalize the product.

Pop-up design is a multicultural composite creation that requires mathematics, art, science, culture, and more. Eighteen years ago, when Dinosaur and Nabijam did not know about pop-ups, they translated professional foreign pop-up books and meticulously completed pop-up designs by dismantling many pop-up books one by one. Based on this experience, they have produced numerous pop-ups for museums, art galleries, and companies.

Above all, instead of outsourcing production overseas to save labor costs, we formed a special team and produced all pop-ups domestically, ensuring there is no lack in design quality or production completeness. In addition, we published books ('Making Three-Dimensional Pop-Up Cards', 'Making Silhouette Design Pop-Up Cards') to foster interest in pop-ups as a hobby activity.
