The reason for starting this project

While sharing my work based on SNS activities,
I have received multiple requests for an English version.

So I organized the existing content
so that it can be used in English,
and this time, I decided to proceed with funding through Wadiz.

Of course,the Korean version can also be selected by default!

About this project

This project is
an expanded version of the existing content translated into English.

While maintaining the original structure,
it has been organized so it can be used regardless of language.

And this time,
a coloring book is included so that theory and practice can be experienced together.

To those who have previously shown interest,
and to those who needed an English version,
we chose a format that allows everyone to start together. We have chosen this approach.

Hello, I am a cat-lovingillustrator, GENTLECAT.

I enjoy capturing the expressions, gestures, and fleeting cuteness of cats in my drawings.
Round cheeks, bright eyes, soft fur, and quirky yet picky personalities,

I have always found comfort and joy in the process of drawing these charming elements.

Rather than keeping this joy to myself,
I wanted to share the experience of drawing even cuter pictures with everyone, so
I prepared this project with the hope of sharing it.

That is how
the "Cat Drawing Guidebook Overflowing with Cuteness" was born.

The included items and instructions are available in both Korean and English!

When drawing, you may find that despite your efforts, the composition feels unorganized,
or the expression that should be cute ends up looking awkward.

This issue arises not from a lack of skill,
but from the absence of standards on where to stop and what to leave behind, rather than what to add.

The <Cat Drawing Guidebook Focused on Cuteness> is
a book that approaches 'cuteness' not as a matter of taste, but as a matter of choice and criteria.

After working on character illustrations for ten years, my level of completion improved,
but I repeatedly faced the limitation of not being able to expand their charm.

Later, while drawing animals, I realized that instead of adding more,
it is necessary to have standards for where to stop and what to omit.

The process of drawing a cat organizes the expression.
Elements such as facial expressions, poses, proportions, and fur texture ultimately come down to choices and balance.

If you focus excessively on one part, the overall balance collapses and the expression becomes blurred.
Details should be distributed evenly throughout the entire drawing, not concentrated in one place.

This book structures these principles into a step-by-step flow.
By following the order, you can maintain a stable density from rough sketch to completion.

Another key point is clear.
Drawing animals does not mean you will lose the ability to draw people.

In the process of simplifying forms, condensing charm, and exploring the individuality of colors,
the range of expression actually broadens.

Animal drawing is both practice in seeing the essence and the fastest way to expand your technique.

In the same context as the guidebook
We have created the second generation of the GENTLECAT Color Dynamic Brush together.

The second generation simplifies the usage flow and enhances the explanations,

It includes a texture that matches the drawing brush, minimizing awkwardness.

 The brushes are each designed for Photoshop and Procreate environments,
and we provide files compatible with both environments.

They can also be used and are compatible with Clip Studio,
but since they are converted from Photoshop brushes, some textures may appear blurry in resolution.

There may be differences from the actual reward (English version).

One big, round stroke is enough!

was the foundation for forming my own drawing style.
