Why are hats used in the water always uncomfortable?

In the sea of Jeju,
While freediving, performing mermaid shows, and enjoying marine leisure activities,
I always had the same concerns.

Baseball caps were weak in water,
Hiking hats were difficult to wear in the water.
Diving hoods were functional but bulky.

A hat that blocks sunlight,
yet lets you enter the water right away.

It stays on even in strong winds and waves,
dries quickly, and feels comfortable to wear.

That's why we decided to make it ourselves.

The MerSona Ocean Cap
"A hat you can use freely both in the water and under the sun"

was created with this goal in mind.This project began

with that purpose.

In Jeju's strong sunlight, wind, and rough waves,
we tested it ourselves, revising and improving it countless times until it was complete.

Comfortable under the sun, even freer the moment you enter the water.

Through this project,
we hope more people can experience a new ocean cap that lets them enjoy both water and sunlight together.

Why was it the Jeju sea?

I am based in Jeju.
I am the head of the mermaid specialty training center, 'Mersona.'It has only been a little over a year since I established the center,
but starting with a performance at the Jeju Amber Pure Hill Hotel,
I have participated in the core operations of the Gwideok Mermaid Village Beach Festival.

And in March 2026,
I will host Korea's first international underwater art competition at an aquarium,
challenging new possibilities in underwater art and mermaid culture.

Currently, I am the official Korean partner of Braveeer, a global silicone mermaid tail brand,
and I have been directly testing and researching equipment at various underwater performances and marine leisure sites.

I have also now enrolled in the Seogwipo Beophwan Haenyeo School,
learning about the real Jeju sea and taking on the path of a haenyeo.

The Mersona Ocean Capis a project that started with the goal of 'a hat that can be used freely both underwater and under the sun.'This project began with that goal.Amid Jeju's strong sunlight, wind, and rough waves,
I tested it myself, revising and improving it countless times to complete it.

After immersing myself countless times in the sea of Jeju,
What I felt most strongly was not just the sunlight.

The sea of Jeju
was much morepowerful windthan I expected.

I realized this even more by comparing it to overseas seas.
The wind in Jeju was especially strong,
which made me realize the necessity ofan Ocean Cap that stays firmly in place and does not come off easily,all the more.

That is why the MerSona Ocean Cap
is designed to stay securely fastened even in strong winds and waves,
with a buckle lock system and double adjustment structureapplied.

However, what MerSona wanted to create was not simply a 'functional hat used only at the sea.'

We hoped that the experience at the sea
would naturally continue into daily life,as well.

Climbing Seoraksan Mountain,
Or picking bracken in the forest,
Even on the boat heading to Udo.
