The KARA YOUNG project began by focusing on the fragrance science of Joseon, Buyonghyang (芙蓉香), as recorded in the Donguibogam..

1. In the 4th year of King Gwanghaegun, when a large-scale epidemic broke out nationwide, the medical book <Byeogonbang> was mass-printed and distributed.

2. King Seonjo, based on easily accessible medicinal herbs, implemented the first public healthcare service suited to Korea's circumstances,and compiled the Donguibogam.

3. Within the palace, artisans who made incense,<Hyangjang>, were appointed to professionally research and manufacture incense for medical and preservation purposes.

King Sejong actively encouraged the cultivation of aromatic plants. Herb enthusiast and Joseon had a dedicated incense manager, Jeonhyang Byeolgam, within the palace.

• Made in a thin, line-like shape,Seonhyang (Incense sticks) have long been essential items for fragrance and insect repellent in daily life in East Asian regions such as India, China, Vietnam, Japan, and Taiwan.
• According to records in the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty and the Diaries of the Royal Secretariat,Buyonghyang was particularly useful for its antibacterial effects and was highly valued for purifying the surroundings during royal weddings and the king's processions. It was also a renowned Joseon luxury item that envoys visiting China and Japan could not overlook. and it became firmly established as such.

Q. What is the shelf life?

A. The shelf life of the incense is 3 years. Since high temperature and humidity can cause the scent to lose its function, avoid direct sunlight and store it in a tightly closed case at room temperature in a dry place.

Q. Are there any concerning ingredients in the incense?

A. This product has been registered as a safe household chemical product with the Ministry of Environment, so you can use it with confidence. However, if you are sensitive, inhaling the scent directly in a confined space may be harmful, so always ensure sufficient ventilation when using it in enclosed areas.

Q. How long does the scent last?

A. One stick burns for about 30 minutes, but this may vary depending on air flow.

Q. How many sticks are included in one package?

A. Each package contains approximately 40 to 45 sticks.
