LED Indicator Automatically Detects Infants Kids Pregnant Women and Disabled Passengers in Real Vehicles!

The background for preparing this project is as follows,

• We currently hold a patent through our own development, and with only the mold remaining, it has become difficult to manage alone due to lack of sales. Therefore, I applied to generate sales and create a safer and more protected Korea.

This project we are presenting has this story behind it.

• Peace of mind for your child's boarding! Infrared automatic recognition LED.
• As an alternative to conventional car stickers, there are many cases where infants and children are not actually on board outside of commuting to and from school or daycare, leading to distrust or aversion to such stickers. Other drivers may not believe them, and even with the sticker, reckless or retaliatory driving often occurs. Although the intention was to improve awareness of yielding and safe driving among other drivers, the stickers have become useless. By informing others whether a child is actually on board, we aim to restore trust and improve awareness of yielding and safe driving, ultimately providing a direct measure to prevent car accidents involving infants and children in Korea.
• The most frequent and dangerous fatal and injury accidents involving infants and children are car accidents. While people use brand-name car seats costing millions of won, these only help after an accident occurs, not in preventing the accident itself. My goal is to solve the trust issue and fundamentally prevent car accidents.
• It is absurd and meaningless to use a brand-name car seat for safety but rely on a pointless sticker costing 5,000 to 10,000 won for accident prevention. Even when there are no infants or children in the car, the sticker can delay rescue and waste time searching for non-existent children during an accident, causing the golden time to be missed (according to paramedic interviews). I want to eliminate such situations and efficiently inform others whether there are children in the car, raising awareness of safe driving and accident prevention among both the driver and other drivers. By improving defensive and yielding driving habits, I hope to reduce car accidents involving infants and children in Korea by even 1% and make Korea safer.
• The "BabySafer" product should be installed next to the rear dashcam (using 3M tape), or if the car seat is on the left seat, install it on the upper left inside of the rear window facing outward. If the car seat is on the right seat, install it on the upper right inside of the rear window. This will align with the "BabySafer" system and standardize recognition among other drivers.
• Please attach the infrared sensor to the side of the car seat.
• When boarding, the infrared sensor detects and the rear "BabySafer" product flashes a 'red' LED. If the infrared sensor does not detect for more than 30 seconds when not boarded, the LED on the rear "BabySafer" product turns off. Please attach the infrared sensor to the side of the car seat.

• I am Park Sungbin, CEO of BabySafer Co., Ltd.
• At the age of 20, I enlisted as a special forces non-commissioned officer and served my country for four years in the special forces.
• I was discharged as a sergeant. Just before discharge, I had ankle surgery due to an injury during a Korea-US joint exercise, but a nerve was damaged during the procedure, resulting in a rare disease. I am now a national merit recipient and receive treatment at the hospital once a week.
• After discharge, I spent about two years bedridden in the hospital, but I could not accept being disabled. I tried various methods and barely managed some rehabilitation. My father also served in the special forces, so I have lived with the motto 'Make it possible if it seems impossible' since birth, and I still hold this mindset in my heart.
• Even after being diagnosed with a rare disease with the highest suicide rate, I did not give up and managed to rehabilitate enough to walk with difficulty.
• The same goes for BabySafer. I am determined to prevent car accidents in our country and reduce the accident rate by even 1% to make Korea safer.
• I have always wondered why people insist on using brand-name car seats costing millions of won. Car seats are designed to protect children in the event of an accident. Most people spare no expense to protect their children during an accident, but I could never understand why they entrust their child's safety to a 5,000 to 10,000 won sticker instead of thinking about ways to prevent accidents in the first place.
• So I thought, "Let's create something that lets other drivers know that a child is actually on board, so they will yield even one more time." That is why I created BabySafer.
• And because I am a national merit recipient (disabled), I received a disabled parking sticker. However, I thought that if I could let other drivers know about this while driving, not only parents with infants and children but also pregnant women, people with disabilities, and the elderly might be encouraged to yield more often.
• Although it is impossible to completely eliminate car accidents, the cause of an accident always lies with either the driver or the other driver. If we can remind both drivers that there are infants, children, pregnant women, people with disabilities, or the elderly in the vehicle, and this reminder leads to even one more instance of yielding or safe driving, then if that one time can reduce accidents, I believe the purpose of my BabySafer will be achieved.
• When I see stickers like 'Baby on Board' on other cars while driving, I sometimes think, for example, between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., or from 7 p.m. to the next day, there probably isn't a child in the car at those times, right? This made me lose trust in such stickers. In fact, interviews and statistics from 119 paramedics show that in many car accidents, there is often no child in the vehicle, making the stickers practically useless or even a hindrance in many cases.

The reason I came to Wadiz

• For about two years, I have been planning, designing, and developing BabySafer on my own.
• My product is currently 90% ready for mass production, including the circuit board, SMT, and processing, but only the mold remains.
• The mold is very expensive... I need Wadiz Funding and the help of many people to begin mass production.
• Since I have been running my company with my product, it has taken a lot of time and money because it has not yet been mass-produced. However, it has become difficult to keep going alone, and although I wanted to raise funds, I had no 'sales,' so I kept operating on my own.
