Here is the background behind preparing this project.

After teaching adult English conversation for 15 years, the most common question I received in the classroom was always the same: "Teacher, how do you say this in English?" These were phrases we use ten times a day in Korean, but for some reason, they just wouldn't come out in English. It wasn't that the words were difficult or the grammar was complicated. It was just
• sentences we've never actually spoken out loud.
I've seen countless people say "I have a promise" for "I have plans." They know all the words, but the phrase native speakers actually use in that situation is "I have plans." Knowing something when you read it and being able to say it are completely different skills. So I gathered all those questions accumulated over 15 years and organized them into 100 sentences. In the classroom, I could only teach as far as my voice could reach, but with this material, I wanted to help more people practice in the same way. The funds raised through this Funding will be used for e-book editing and design, MP3 audio production, and the creation of the workbook and trigger cards.

This project we are presenting has this story.

First. These are sentences from the classroom. These are not expressions chosen at a desk. They are questions that learners actually got stuck on during 15 years of classes, collected on the spot. Even online, tens of thousands of people responded, "I was curious about this too."

Second. It points out where literal translation goes wrong.

Even the same phrase can be different in English depending on the situation. "I'm on my way" can be "I'm on my way" or "I'm heading over now." For all 100 sentences, we included four sentences explaining the nuance differences and real conversation examples.

Third. This is not a book to read, but a book to get your mouth used to.

Attach meaning → Attach sound → Recall → Attach mouth muscles → My own version. It's structured in five steps. Especially in the third step, you practice producing English just by looking at the Korean. Speaking while looking and recalling to speak are different.

It consists of an e-book, MP3, workbook, trigger cards, and a challenge program.

I am Giselle, who runs an English conversation academy for adults. I majored in English Language and Literature, completed TESOL at Yonsei University, and hold an International English Instructor Certificate from California State University, Long Beach in the United States. I have met learners of various ages for over 15 years, and I am still teaching in the classroom every week.

There is one thing I have learned while teaching.Being good at English and making someone speak English are completely different things. I have been thinking about the latter for 15 years.

"Just listen repeatedly and you'll get it" — I don't say that. I also don't promise it will be easy. Instead, I will join you in the process that actually gets you speaking.

The reason I came to Wadiz is

At my offline academy, the range of people I could reach was limited. Only those who could come to a specific location at a set time. I kept receiving requests from others to "make it available online," but it was difficult to handle alone.

The reason I chose Crowdfunding isBecause I want to start together with those who need it, not just make it first and sell it later. Knowing how many people are waiting and making it is different from making it without knowing.

And honestly, if I were alone, I don't think I could have come this far. The fact that supporters are watching over me is a deadline and a responsibility for me.
