As we launch the 'ask me later' brand...
We are a design studio that handles clothing design, fabric sourcing, and finished product manufacturing..
We decided to launch our own brand, 'ask me later,' by utilizing the resources accumulated from our existing business.
Before fully developing the brand, we planned to promote it by checking customer reactions through Wadiz first.
The first project we are introducing is a hybrid summer t-shirt + shorts setup.
These are not just typical cost-effective t-shirts and shorts.
By using zippers, not only do we add a unique sense of style, but we also provide a functional feature that allows consumers to adjust the zipper according to the TPO, enabling various fits and looks.
Zippers, along with buttons, are among the most commonly used garment accessories.
Accessories have their own inherent functions.
At the ask me later design team, we wanted to expand the use of zippers by adding the additional function of fit adjustment beyond their typical use. This is the approach of a designer brand and adds value.
Especially for t-shirts, zippers are not usually used due to the nature of the item, but that could just be a stereotype. By changing the attachment location, the role and function of the zipper are greatly expanded.
In this project, we designed the zipper to connect from the side panel to the bottom of the sleeve, making it openable. In today's fashion market, fits are highly diversified, ranging from slim fit and regular fit to the recently popular oversized fit.
Inspired by this, we designed it so that the wearer can open and close the zipper to decide the fit themselves.
Fit is also related to TPO (Time, Place, Occasion).
For slightly formal occasions, people generally prefer a regular fit, while for casual settings like weekends or gatherings with friends, an oversized fit can give a stylish impression.
One of the biggest features of this project’s T-shirt isthat it allows for various fits using the zipper.. In particular,besides the regular and oversized fits, you can partially widen only the hem or adjust from the hem up to the abdomen or chest, allowing for comfortable yet fashionable multi-styling that suits your body shape.
With the elasticity characteristic of T-shirt jersey material added to the zipper detail, it provides optimal comfort when worn.
Especially when worn as a top and bottom set, it can create an even more sophisticated look.
This is not an ordinary, plain T-shirt. Artistic designer sensibility is added with graphic artwork using three-ply embroidery on the back panel of the T-shirt.
In addition to the zipper functionality, to avoid a dull or simple impression,we developed high-quality artistic graphic artwork and added three-ply embroidery to the back panel.
To avoid the embroidery color being too flashy or overwhelming, we used embroidery in tones similar to the fabric, giving it subtle charm and distinctive design.
The title of this graphic is “Garden of Digital Circuits.” Circuit boards and rose petals are intertwined. This symbolizes that although the massive industrial technology of AI seems to dominate our lives, even those cold circuit networks ultimately serve as the foundation and nourishment for human emotion to blossom. It means that technology does not overwhelm nature, but rather, human beauty blooms on the framework of technology in a structure of symbiosis.
The lettering ‘Social romantist’ is the core of this design. It represents people who do not lose their sense of romance even in a cold digital environment.
Wearing this garment is not simply consuming fashion. It is an act that proves that no matter how quickly the world becomes digitalized, a garden of nature still blooms in your heart. This embroidery becomes a symbolic badge representing the ‘quiet rest’ that only you can enjoy amidst the noise of technology.
If you wear this garment while resonating with this meaning, it will appear in a new light.
Shorts can sometimes look too casual or even inappropriate.
Taking this into consideration, we gave them an appropriate length to maintain the luxurious feel of the shorts themselves.
In particular, while highlighting the vibrant look of the top T-shirt, we also attached a zipper to the shorts to emphasize a sophisticated sense of unity with the top.
This is not an ordinary material. It is a jersey fabric made from natural fiber 'Lyocell,' which boasts excellent elasticity and breathability.
'Lyocell' is an eco-friendly, innovative fiber made from cellulose extracted from wood pulp. It is characterized by a silky-soft touch comparable to silk and superior moisture absorption compared to cotton. In addition, it has durability almost equal to polyester.
Both the top and bottom setup of this project were planned around this material.
It features a soft yet subtly glossy surface texture, as well as moisture absorption, breathability, and elasticity suitable for summer clothing.
Especially for the pants, the light and soft touch prevents the fabric from sticking to the body or feeling rough due to sweat, providing a refreshing sensation even when worn outdoors in hot summer weather.
We pursue 3-Less.
This is the core philosophy of ask me later.
The 3-Less pursued by ask me later stands for Genderless, Ageless, and Borderless.
It can be worn by anyone, regardless of gender. The sizing was designed to be versatile, and especially, the zipper detail allows you to adjust the fit yourself.
It was planned without targeting a specific age group. We developed a silhouette pattern so that customers of any age can wear it and still exude a sophisticated, modern vibe. Even when worn by those in their 50s or 60s, it gives a natural, mature look rather than an awkwardly youthful impression.
Rather than the negative nuance of 'young forty' trying too hard to look young, we touched on the unique, relaxed, and sophisticated sensibility of people in their 40s.
We have broken down the boundaries of TPO (Time, Place, Occasion). It is casual yet never sloppy, and even gives off a well-put-together vibe with a natural, effortless style.
It suits any occasion, from travel and exercise to gatherings.
For this project, we have prepared three colors.
Black gives an urban and sophisticated feel.
Khaki gray is perfect for expressing a subtle yet trendy sensibility.
Ivory offers a clean and rich impression.
You can choose the color that suits you or that you prefer, and it is also possible to combine different colors for the top and bottom.
