1. The Beginning of Planning: "Between a Perfect Person and a Lazy Person"
Our entire team majors in business administration. In the classroom, we learn about efficient resource management and perfect business strategies, and as student council members, we lead organizations with a sense of responsibility. However, the moment we step outside the school, we turn back into ordinary college students who procrastinate on assignments until the last minute and can't resist the temptation of spicy ramen at 3 a.m.
One day, while watching a V-log, I thought, "Why does everyday life in V-logs always look so pretty and perfect? Isn't our honest, messy daily life also worth recording?"
We concluded that these two contradictory sides are the real image of people living in this era, and decided to 'log' them on the 'T-shirt' we wear most often in our daily lives.
2. Design Trial and Error: "A Subtle Difference That Resonates"
The biggest concern in the initial planning stage was the 'checklist items.' To come up with items that weren't too obvious but would make anyone nod in agreement, we surveyed about 50 peers and went through dozens of revisions.
Trial and Error 1 (Phrase Selection): At first, we included ordinary phrases like "Waking up early," but they lacked wit. So we added more specific and painfully relatable details of daily life, such as "Buying an umbrella every time it rains" and "Recognizing Friday as Friday (drinking plans)."
Trial and Error 2 (Font Selection): Initially, we used a clean Gothic font, but it felt too stiff, like a real survey form. To give the feeling of a natural daily record, we compared dozens of fonts and finally chose the current handwritten-style font that conveys warmth and wit.
3. Efforts to Improve Prototype Production and Quality
As important as the design was the 'fundamentals' of the T-shirt.
To create a T-shirt that is not disposable but becomes a companion in daily life, we paid special attention to the following points.
Consistent printing after washing: We conducted multiple print tests to ensure the checklist would not peel or crack. We especially focused on color so that the white text would stand out clearly on black T-shirts, with the red check marks serving as highlights.
Fit and material: As business majors, we considered 'value for cost.' We chose fabric with appropriate weight to prevent see-through, and applied ribbing that resists neck stretching even after frequent washing to complete the prototype.
4. The Remaining Process
Now, if the funding succeeds, we have only one final step left.
Final inspection: We will visit the production factory in person to thoroughly check the print quality and even every single thread.
Heartfelt packaging: We will carefully package and deliver the T-shirts so that supporters feel like they've met a friend who truly understands them when they receive their shirt.
