Since launching the quarterly 'Creation and Criticism' in 1966, Changbi Publishing has been Korea's leading publisher, maintaining the pinnacle of Korean humanities and intellectual history for over half a century. We have introduced brilliant authors to readers, including Nobel Prize winner Han Kang's 'The Vegetarian' and 'Human Acts,' as well as Shin Kyung-rim, Hwang Sok-yong, Yoo Hong-jun, and Kim Ae-ran. Reason for Wadiz Funding

In an era of rapidly consumed content, we judged that Wadiz is the platform that can best showcase a project that conveys the lasting value of thought. It is not just about 'selling books,' but about meeting readers who want to reinterpret Korean thought.

Beyond distribution centered on large bookstores,We wanted to create this project together with readers who resonate with the question, "Why is this book needed now?"

Because 'Changbi Korean Thought Selection' is a project with a deeper and longer perspective than typical history books, we wanted to first meet readers who understand and support its value. We thought Wadiz is not just a place for purchases, but a platform for participating in shared values. We wanted to start this project with readers who wish to deeply understand Korean society. To lower the burden of a 30-volume set, we wanted to introduce specially curated sets and exclusive goods on Wadiz first, curated directly by our editors.

This series is not simply a book that organizes the past, but is closer to a 'map of thought' for understanding Korean society today. Therefore, we thought a funding method that allows for deeper connection with readers is more suitable than general publication.

Since this project started with the question, "Why hasn't there been such a plan until now?", we felt that Wadiz, which can create new reader experiences, was a perfect fit.

A. No, it won't. We have completely broken the mold of the conventional, rigid, and tedious academic translations. The most authoritative scholars in Korea have meticulously translated the texts into perfect modern language, making them as fluent and comfortable as possible for contemporary readers.
