The background for preparing this project is as follows,
We currently hold a patent through in-house development, and with only the mold remaining, it has become difficult to manage alone due to lack of sales. Therefore, I applied to generate sales and create a safer and more protected Korea.
This project we are presenting has this story behind it.
Peace of mind for your child's boarding! Infrared automatic recognition LED
As an alternative to conventional car stickers, there are many cases where infants and children are not actually on board outside of commuting times, leading to distrust or aversion to such stickers. Other drivers do not believe them, and even with the sticker, reckless or retaliatory driving occurs. Although the intention was to improve awareness of yielding and safe driving among other drivers, the stickers have become useless. By informing whether a child is actually on board, we aim to restore trust and improve awareness of yielding and safe driving, ultimately providing a direct measure to prevent car accidents involving infants and children in Korea.
The most frequent and dangerous accidents causing death or injury to infants and children are car accidents. While people use expensive branded car seats, these only help after an accident occurs, not in preventing the accident itself. My goal is to solve the trust issue and fundamentally prevent car accidents.
It is absurd and meaningless to use a branded car seat for safety but rely on a 5,000 to 10,000 won sticker for accident prevention. Moreover, when there are no infants or children in the car, the sticker can delay rescue and waste time searching for non-existent children during accidents (according to paramedic interviews). I want to eliminate such situations and efficiently inform whether there are children in the car, raising awareness of safe driving and accident prevention among drivers, and ultimately reduce car accidents involving infants and children in Korea by even 1% to make the country safer.
Hello, supporters! This is the maker of BabySafer.
Nice to meet you.
I am Sungbin Park, CEO of BabySafer Co., Ltd.
At the age of 20, I enlisted as a special forces non-commissioned officer and served my country for four years in the Special Forces.
I was discharged as a sergeant. Just before discharge, I injured my ankle during a Korea-US joint exercise and underwent surgery, but a nerve was damaged during the procedure, resulting in a rare disease. I am now a national merit recipient and receive treatment at the hospital once a week.
After discharge, I spent about two years bedridden in the hospital, but I could not accept being disabled. I tried various methods and managed to achieve some rehabilitation. My father also served in the Special Forces, so I have lived with the motto 'Make it possible if it seems impossible' since birth, and I still hold this mindset.
Even after being diagnosed with a rare disease with the highest suicide rate, I did not give up and managed to rehabilitate enough to walk with difficulty.
The same goes for BabySafer. I want to prevent car accidents in our country by any means possible and reduce the accident rate by even 1% to make Korea safer.
I have always wondered why people insist on using expensive branded car seats. Car seats are designed to protect children in the event of an accident. Most people spare no expense to protect their children during accidents, but I could never understand why they do not consider ways to prevent accidents in the first place and instead entrust their child's safety to a 5,000 to 10,000 won sticker.
So I thought, 'Let's create something that lets other drivers know when a child is actually on board, so they might yield just one more time.' That's how BabySafer was created.
And because I am a national merit recipient (disabled), I received a disabled parking sticker. I thought that if I could inform other drivers about this while driving, it would encourage not only for infants and children but also for pregnant women, the disabled, and the elderly to receive more consideration and yielding from others.
While it is impossible to completely eliminate car accidents, the cause always lies with the driver or other drivers. If we can inform both the driver and other drivers that infants, children, pregnant women, the disabled, or the elderly are on board, and this reminder leads to even one more instance of yielding or safe driving, then I believe the purpose of BabySafer will be fulfilled.
I, too, when driving, see stickers like 'Baby on Board' on other cars and think, for example, between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., or 7 p.m. to the next day, there is no way a child is in the car at those times. This has led me to distrust such stickers. In fact, according to interviews and statistics from 119 paramedics, there are more cases where there is no child in the car during accidents, making the stickers practically useless or even obstructive in many cases.
Please join me in creating a better Korea, our country! My goal is to reduce the accident rate by even 1% with my BabySafer. Help me reduce car accidents together!
The reason I came to Wadiz
For about two years, I have been planning, designing, and developing BabySafer on my own.
Currently, my product is 90% ready for mass production in terms of circuit boards, SMT, and processing, but only the mold remains.
The mold is very expensive... I need the help of Wadiz Funding and many people to begin mass production.
Since I have been running my company with my product, it has taken a lot of time and money as it has not yet been mass-produced. However, it has become difficult to keep going alone, and although I wanted to seek funding, I had no 'sales,' so I kept operating on my own. Then I discovered Wadiz and came here to help parents who actually drive cars and to generate sales with my product.
