Hello. I am a one-person publisher,Eumme Publishing and I write novels and poetry.Choi Yoo-jin.

Before bringing this book into the world, I experiencedtwenty rejections from publishers.
At first, I was very discouraged, but thanks to the publishers who left sincere feedback even while rejecting me,
I felt motivated to try again.

This time, instead of waiting for replies from other publishers,
I wanted to take full responsibility for the entire publishing process myself.
It was because I wanted to sincerely repay literature, which made me who I am today, in my own way.

From that small courage,Eumme Publishing was born.

Publishing a book is
similar to sending a version of 'myself' out into the world.

I also know very well that one-person publishing is never easy.
There is no guarantee that my challenge will necessarily succeed.

Still, now I want to step out into the worldand experience failure to my heart's content. That is my intention.
Ieummae is a publishing company that started from such a mindset.

Choi Yoo-jin
Born in the fall of 2007.

The summer of my nineteenth year,
a story began to grow inside me that I simply could not bear to leave unwritten,
and so I wrote my first novel, "Only Today for a Day."

I write with the intention of calling back each person who passes by without a name,
and I am co-running the one-person publishing company 'Ieummae.'

Synopsis

When I opened my eyes, I found myself at school.

The desk was covered with post-it notes densely written in an unrecognizable language.
The playground, which should have been noisy with kids playing soccer, was strangely quiet.
Feeling a sense of discomfort, I looked around,but only you and I were at the school.

The entire school was surrounded by a mysterious forest, making it impossible to tell where the boundaries were.

I tried to speak to you, who was standing next to me,
but after a brief silence, you only left behind some cryptic words.

"ㅡㅡ ㅡㅡ ㅡ ㅡㅡ ㅡㅡㅡ ㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡ."

The school remained silent.

From the main text

"What is everyone working so desperately hard for? That’s what I was curious about. Achieving a goal, in another sense, means losing a direction. So where does everyone go after that? You can always dream new dreams, but after achieving those new dreams? Setting another goal, achieving it again, and continuing on and on... Where does this meaningless cycle of breaking through milestones even lead? Where is everyone running so hard toward?"

At first, I simply started with the feeling that there was a story I had to write. In the summer when I was nineteen and began writing my first novel, I had so many doubts about the world and needed someone to ask questions to. Why do people consider effort the greatest virtue, and when did self-esteem turn into a means to show off oneself and belittle others? Looking back now, I think I needed someone to worry with me, rather than someone to give me answers. After all, people aren’t born just to be recognized by others or to be used up.

Ironically, the more my resistance to the cult of effort grew, the harder I worked on my manuscript.

Even if you don’t love your own life,

even if you can’t place any expectations on yourself,

even if you don’t love me, it’s all okay.

I really wanted to convey the message that even people who don’t love themselves can be happy enough.

"Today That Exists Only for a Day" is a novel of about 50,000 characters, being introduced for the first time through Wadiz Funding. For this Funding,Limited quantity acrylic keyring has also been prepared.
