"Children Who Graduate 5 Years Early"
To the parents of children who have left school, we offer not consolation, but a "blueprint."
Why this book, and why now?
After dropping out, education outside of school is nothing but overwhelming.
No one tells you how to prepare for life after dropping out.
The moment a child drops out, whether by choice or not,
Parents are faced with countless questions.
"Is my child's life over just like this?"
"Will just the qualification exam be enough?"
"Will my child be able to go to college?"
"What will my child's future look like?"
Strangely, there is no book that answers these questions step by step.
The number of out-of-school youth continues to increase.
Dropping out, non-attendance, homeschooling…
Education outside of school is no longer a special choice,
But a reality of education that our society must consider together.
Yet, most books
"It's okay."
"Things will work out."
Stop at mere consolation.
Comfort can temporarily soothe the heart.
But what parents need is
a 'plan' that tells them what to do today.
How to design the right schedule for your child,
how to prepare for the qualification exam,
how to utilize the Academic Credit Bank System,
and what out-of-school students should prepare for in the age of AI.
What turns anxiety into hope is not comfort, but direction.
This book was started to find that direction together.

Maker Introduction
I believe that education is a 'plan' that can change a person's life.
Hello.
I am Jihoon Ahn, author of "Children Who Graduate Five Years Early."
For a long time,I have been connecting education, policy, and human growth, as my work.
In my twenties, I ran a Learning Management Center, helping students with their academic paths and career choices,
and as an after-school debate teacher, I helped children develop the ability to think and express themselves independently.
Later, at the Seoul Metropolitan Council, Seongdong District Office, and the National Assembly, I researched and promoted youth policy, social economy, urban regeneration, and social venture policies, focusing on systems and policies that can change people's lives I have been creating.
I taught public administration, administrative law, social value, and ESG at Hanyang Women's University,
and I am currently the Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at the Hanyang University Institute for Local Government Studies. To reduce disparities,
a society where everyone can realize their potential, is what I am researching.
Meeting countless students and parents, I realized one thing.
Children have enough potential, but what is lacking is the 'planning' to turn that potential into reality. That was it.
From the moment they leave school, parents search for endless information, but what they truly need is
not scattered information, but a roadmap that can help draw the right path for their child together. That was it.
Therefore, this book is not simply a guide to the qualification exam or the Academic Credit Bank System.
It is a guide to help parents reclaim their child's time and plan the future together. That is what it is.
I still firmly believe this.
Education is not about giving the right answers, but about believing in a person's potential to the end and planning together.
I hope this book will serve as a small milestone for parents and children who share the same concerns.

The core covered by this book
It is not about how to leave school,
but about how to design your child's future.
The fact that a child has left school does not determine their future.
What matters isthe time after leaving school and how you will fill it.
This book helps children and parents who have chosen education outside of school to set
specific directions and action plans instead of vague anxiety.

It was not leaving school that determined the future, but how the time spent outside of school was designed that created the future.
This is what this book is about.
✔ This is not a book that encourages leaving school.
✔ More than comfort, design is what we talk about.
✔ The qualification exam and the Academic Credit Bank System astools, not goals, is how we view them.
✔ We design together a path for children to grow up as themselves even outside of school.
The most important message of this book
Education does not end just because you leave school.
The moment a child begins to design their own life, a new education begins.
Preview of the main text
Prologue: "If you leave school, is it really too late?"
Each child had a different reason for leaving school.
Some chose out-of-school education due to health, school violence, or to find learning that suited them.
But parents had only one question.
"How should we now prepare for our child's future?"
This book does not tell you to leave school. However, when the moment comes that education outside of school is needed,It discusses ways to restart your child's time with planning, not anxiety. We talk about this together.
